Cheryl has worked across a range of demographics, alongside and in partnerships with police and other first responders, focused primarily on families and children, including roles in private therapy, child protection, addiction, domestic violence, child/youth mental health and mentorship. At the core of these experiences is, of course, the stress of parents and the family unit.

book: therapy
I offer individual therapy to both women and men, with a focus on the individual struggles, identity shift, pressures, and transition period for adults who are adjusting to their role in various life stages, including obvious stages like parenthood and professional career development.
I offer trauma release through EMDR and ART therapies, with an understanding of the unique experiences of First Responders and how acute, chronic and complex traumas impact both the individual and family as a whole. EMDR and ART can also be used to address childhood, environmental and incidental traumas and negative belief patterns.
My approach is informed primarily on building a trusting relationship that uses Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Attachment Theory, Polyvagal Theory, Somatic Work, Internal Family Systems, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) concepts and Motivational Interviewing, to allow you to move quickly into feeling better and more at ease in your daily life.
Areas of focus include: Trauma treatments (acute, chronic, complex), Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, anger, Pre/Post/Perinatal mental health, Men's work, parenting stress, parenting identity, mental load, grief and loss, relationship stress, self-esteem, career development, athletic performance, and individual goal planning.
Beyond a therapeutic background, I incorporate 200hr Yoga Teacher Training concepts such as yoga, meditation, Yoga Nidra, breath work and mindfulness into the treatment approach.
Reducing stress and overwhelm for professionals and parents, while increasing resilience amongst adversity and discovering a sense of success within all areas of life, has become my passion.
